Durham Tees Valley Community Rehabilitation Company (DTV CRC) is an ambitious and innovative organisation that is highly committed to its mission to deliver the best possible outcomes for people coming out of the criminal justice system. Set up in 2014 as part of the Ministry of Justice reforms, DTV CRC is owned by the ‘Achieving Real Change for Communities’ (ARCC) consortium, and is required to deliver the contract with the MoJ to support offenders in the Durham and Tees Valley areas. Our aim is to successfully integrate people back into the community and support them and their communities in participating in a positive future. Job Title: Operations Manager

Salary: £35,024 pa - £39,818 pa

With a strong track record in our core services of working to reduce reoffending and protect the public, we are looking to appoint an Operations Manager. Working to the Deputy Director of Operations you will contribute to the operational success of the business. You will have proven skills and experience gained within the criminal justice sector and be innovative and commercially minded.

Possessing strong leadership skills to manage and develop an allocated team of colleagues across Durham Tees Valley CRC; ensuring a high standard of service delivery in pursuit of organisational objectives and quality standards.

You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated and able to demonstrate a range of experience, skills and personal qualities, as set out in the Role Profile; and in addition, be willing to work in any operational function and location across the CRC.

Job Title: Quality & Investigations Manager

Location: Initial base will be Stockton on Tees. However, the post-holder will be expected to work anywhere within the Durham Tees Valley Area

Salary: £35,024 pa - £39,818 pa

The Quality and Development Team is a relatively new function within DTV CRC, and will develop over a period of time. The team’s primary aim is to benchmark the quality of practice within DTV CRC, providing insight and analysis to the Senior Leadership Team. Benchmarking will utilise the HMIP standards and will take place as part of wider quality assurance activity that operates within a Quality Assurance Framework (QAF).

We are looking to appoint a Quality & Investigations Manager, who will work to the Deputy Director of Operations and will manage, lead and develop the QAF. You will undertake both internal and external investigations into practice and behaviour. These investigations will include scrutiny of Serious Further Offences, Serious Case Reviews, Domestic Homicide Reviews, and internal investigations where disciplinary processes have been triggered. You should have a proven track record of operational offender management/rehabilitation within the criminal justice sector and will hold a Probation Officer Qualification, Dip PS or equivalent.

You will possess strong leadership skills to manage and develop a small team of staff; ensuring a high standard of service delivery in pursuit of organisational objectives and quality standards.

Job Title: Probation Officer

Salary: £29,038 pa - £36,084 pa

We are looking to recruit a Probation Officer on a permanent basis.  This post could be based anywhere within the Durham Tees Valley area.

We are looking for a dedicated Probation Officer with experience of working directly with participants (offenders).  You will be highly motivated and dynamic, and possess excellent motivational interviewing and engagement skills, in order to build effective professional relationships with participants (offenders), as well as colleagues and external partner agencies.

Requirements for the role:

  • An appropriate professional qualification: CQSW, Dip SW, Dip PS
  • Recent practice, knowledge and experience of working as a Probation Officer
  • Passionate about supporting participants to rehabilitate and address their offending behaviour
  • Flexible and committed approach to work: enthusiastic, positive, responsive to change
  • Willingness to travel within the Durham Tees Valley Area as required
  • Able to work both agile and collaboratively as part of a team
  • This role will require an Enhanced DBS Check.

Job Title: Contract & Procurement Officer

Salary: £22,039 pa - £27,373 pa

We are looking for a Contract & Procurement Officer to lead on contract management and provide advice and support to the Executive Team on all elements of the procurement process.  The post is based within our Finance Team at Belmont Industrial Estate, Durham. However, you may be expected to work from any location within the Durham Tees Valley area.

You will have good numerical and administrative skills with the ability to apply these to a range of situations, including supporting contract negotiations, ensuring all documentation and drafting of new contracts is up to date, as well as supporting meetings as required.  In addition, you will ensure performance reports meet the contractual requirements and deliver the level of information needed for effective service delivery.

Job Title: Communications Officer

Salary: £29,038 pa - £36,084 pa

We are looking for an experienced and creative Communications Officer who is passionate about delivering innovative communications to promote the DTV CRC brand.  You will support the CRC in ensuring a consistent, quality assured, corporate approach to development and delivery of communications, both internal and external, and the identification of new promotional opportunities, in accordance with the Communications Strategy.

The post is based at our District Centre in Stockton on Tees. However, you may be expected to work from any location within the Durham Tees Valley area.

As the Communications lead for the organisation you will be required to write, edit, co-ordinate and publish content across various channels, including our website, social media, the press and on-line marketing materials.  You will be required to liaise directly with the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Team, a wide range of managers and colleagues across the CRC and partners, stakeholders, press and others as required. 

You will need excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of delivering engaging marketing activities across a variety of media and of analysing the effectiveness of campaigns.  You will be comfortable with working independently, be creative and innovative, with a proven ability for building effective relationships with a strong customer focussed approach.

You should have experience of carrying out reception duties in a busy office along with completing administration tasks including word processing of documents.  You should have a flexible and committed approach to work and be genuinely willing to undertake whatever task comes to hand in order to see the team operate as effectively as possible.

Probation Service Officer (Supervisor)

Hours of work: Casual – to cover as and when required (no guarantee of minimum hours)

Location: to cover across the Durham Tees Valley area

Salary: £11.42 per hour (plus appropriate unsocial hours payment for weekend working)

We have an exciting opportunity to join Durham Tees Valley CRC’s Unpaid Work Team as a Probation Service Officer.

Probation Service Officers are responsible for assisting in the supervision of groups of up to eight participants who have been directed by the courts to undertake unpaid work which benefits the Community in which they live.This could include work such as painting and decorating, site clearance, environmental work and general construction. As such practical skills in these areas would be advantageous.

The Probation Service Officer has a wide range of responsibilities, which primarily focus on assisting in the delivery of projects to the required standards, and ensuring that the groups of participants work effectively and comply with their Community Order.

The ability to communicate confidently with colleagues and stakeholders is essential as is being able to effectively and positively promote the work of the Unpaid Work Unit and the CRC.
