Social Action Initiatives

Social Action in Darlington - preparation run a resounding success

June saw the launch and practice run for one of Darlington's first Social Action initiatives. Four participants gained their level 2 Food and Hygiene certificates and with colleagues prepared a hearty meal served to the local fire crew and representatives from the local council and voluntary agencies. This was in preparation to run what we hope will be a monthly lunch club delivered to a community beneficiary group. The event was a resounding success.

The food was delicious and service impeccable - thanks to all those involved and a special mention is in order because as a result of gaining the qualification for this Social Action initiative one of the participants has now secured employment.
